National Drug Council Cayman Islands

Ms. Laila Shim is primarily responsible for the development, monitoring, and evaluation of research conducted at the National Drug Council. As our lead researcher, she is responsible for the production of research reports, data collection, and analysis which serves as the foundation for prevention initiatives at the organization. Ms. Shim has an extensive educational background in the field of social sciences, having completed her B.A. in Social Psychology, a Postgraduate Certification in Addictions & Mental Health, and a Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences from the University of Toronto. Her passion and knowledge for the field of addiction and mental health make her well equipped for the role of obtaining evidence-based research relating to the drug trends in the Cayman Islands.
